MRS EBUNOLA ANOZIE

Chief Executive Officer

Ebunola Anozie is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of C.O.P.E. She is a Nigerian health professional with over 25 years’ experience in advocacy, breast cancer outreach, and community awareness. She has received national and international awards in recognition of her service and relentless dedication to the fight against breast cancer. She has successfully partnered with the Nigerian government, various local and international companies, organizations, and individuals to provide financial and physical support to breast cancer patients and survivors in Nigeria.

Ebunola also has extensive experience in operations, business development and service delivery. She is an Ashoka Fellow, Rotarian, Project Lead graduate, and member of the Nigerian Red Cross.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian religious studies from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and a certificate in administration and personnel from the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Florence Anyanwu

HEAD, MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

Florence Anyanwu is a registered nurse [RN] with over twelve years’ experience. At C.O.P.E, she is responsible for conducting physical examinations, analyzing patient’s health issues, referrals, and counseling. She also sends reminders for appointments, organizes support group monthly meetings, and keeps records of all health programs.

Prior to C.O.P.E, Florence worked at BTHDC, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. A passionate care giver, she has participated in various medical outreach and campaigns organized by public, private corporate and religious bodies including the Lagos State Ministry of Health at Ogudu in 2012, Pink Impact free medical outreach in 2013 at Tarkwa Bay Beach, and the annual medical outreach by Divine Mercy International Organization.

Florence is a graduate of the School of Nursing, M.M.H, Afikpo in Ebonyi State and was certified by the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria (NMCN) in 2008.

In her spare time, she loves to read and watch movies.

Gbemisola Popoola

Gbemisola Salako Popoola is head of administration/data analyst. In this role, she is responsible for providing administrative support including organizing records, projects, and budgets.

She has led different projects at C.O.P.E including Bournvita breast cancer awareness, Bournvita/LTV breast cancer breast screening, Union Bank breast screening, Ekiti State breast cancer screening, and various medical outreach projects.

Prior to C.O.P.E, Gbemi was Brand Activation and Data Analyst Manager at Purples Consult where she executed, supervised and analyzed programs. She holds a marketing degree from Lagos State Polytechnic.

EMERITUS PROFESSOR OSATO F. GIWA-OSAGIE

Professor Osato Giwa-Osagie is one of Nigeria’s leading obstetrician-gynaecologists, IVF experts and educator. He also serves as a consultant to the World Health Organization.

In 1965, he attended Cambridge University to read medicine and received a B.A. in Pathology in 1969, MB BCHIR in 1972, and MA in 1971. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Kings College Hospital, London, and received an MSc in Endocrinology from Leeds University in 1976.

He became a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists [MRCOG] in 1977 and was elected Fellow [FRCOG] in 1982. He was a lecturer at Kings College Hospital, London in 1977 and became a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at LUTH, Lagos in 1980.

In 1987, he became professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Lagos up until 1993. He trained at Harvard Medical School, Monash University, and has participated in various health management programmes at Harvard School of Public Health. Professor Osato Giwa-Osagie is chairman of Advanced Fertility Clinic and Omni Medical Centre. He is trustee of the New Era Foundation and chairman of the Howzat Foundation for cricket.

He was awarded the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger [OON] in 2004 and in 2011 was awarded a distinguished professorship at the University of Lagos

MRS TEMILOLA ADEPETUN

Temilola Adepetun is the founder and MD/CEO of SKLD Integrated Services Limited (formerly School Kits Limited), a leading sourcing company for educational, lifestyle, office, and humanitarian aid supplies in Nigeria, with presence in 6 States of the country serving over 500 companies across 24 states in Nigeria. She is passionate about learning and development and has been a facilitator on soft skills on entrepreneurship programs. She has served on mentoring Programs over the years mentoring other female entrepreneurs.

She started her 14-year career in the Oil and Gas Industry in 1986 during which she worked in various strategic departments such as Economics & Planning, Treasury, Insurance and Human Resources. She resigned in the year 2000 to pioneer the concept of a one-stop back-to-school store in Lagos, with the opening of her first retail store at Onikan on September 9th of the same year.

SKLD was launched with 2 members of staff at Onikan, Lagos over 20 years ago and currently, it operates 7 retail outlets across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, an online back-to-school store (skit.ng) and 5 other business locations across Nigeria.

Temilola has driven a very innovative and dynamic team towards achieving remarkable growth in her company. She achieved this by expanding SKLD’s wholesale division with the launch of Marcel Hughes Apparel in 2009 - Nigeria’s flagship uniform brand serving over 500 schools nationwide; and establishing a garment production facility employing 93 garment workers and producing over 4,000 garments per month. SKLD further diversified into Humanitarian Aid supplies to International NGOs such as UNICEF, Save the Children and others in recent years.

In November 2019, Temilola received the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge Foundation (IWEC) award India, in recognition of her giant strides on her journey as a successful entrepreneur and for her contribution to empowering women.

Temilola holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Lagos (1982) and she is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance, London -A.C.I.I. (1985).

She is also a Life Member of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ) and a Trustee of the Board of Courage Education Foundation, an NGO dedicated to educating indigent children. She sits as a Director on the Board of SS Dental Clinic and is Chairwoman Board of Directors at C.O.P.E. Foundation. She is a member of the Garment and Accessories Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.

Temilola is married to Dr. Adebayo Adepetun, and they have three sons; Damola, Denola and Ademide

Kehinde Gbelee is a breast cancer survivor and committed advocate of breast cancer awareness. She has partnered with various stakeholders, including the government, media, and NGOs to champion various breast cancer awareness programmes in Nigeria.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Ahmadu Bello University and a master’s degree in business administration from Middlesex University. Kehinde is also a member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and a Project Lead graduate. She is married with children.

MR AKEMERE MICHAEL OSIME

Michael Osime is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of International Capital Markets Group.

Prior to International Capital Markets Group, Mr. Osime worked at Chase Merchant Bank [later Continental Merchant Bank] where he was responsible for debt/equity issues and origination, placing of money market instruments and the development of venture capital.

Later, he was seconded to Nigerian International Securities Limited [NISL] where he trained and qualified as a stockbroker before eventually moving to Nigeria International Bank [NIB] to join its corporate finance team. At NIB, he led its financial institutions unit, which was responsible for managing 80% of the bank assets at the time. At NIB, he was also responsible for marketing Citibank NA, Chase Manhattan, and Citicorp Investment Bank. In 1992, he was appointed by the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation [NDIC] as a director of New Nigeria Bank [NNB] Plc when its management was taken over by NDIC.

Michael is a director of several companies including, Partnership Savings and Loans Limited; Broadband Technologies Limited, a telecommunication services firm; and Asset Procurement Limited, an oil-service Company based in Port-Harcourt. He is an authorised dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

DR BOLA FAJEMIROKUN

Dr. Bola Fajemirokun has a variety of experiences spanning 37 years as a commercial law attorney in private practice, researcher, and lecturer. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984. An alumna of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos graduating in 1983, she received her master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from Kings College London in 1985 and was awarded a Ph.D. in Law from University College London in 1990.

Dr. Fajemirokun combines commercial law practice with her varied interests in advancing inclusive and balanced development.

She has served on several nonprofit boards locally and internationally including Women in Shipping and Trading Association-Nigeria as Vice-President fron 1996-1998; National President from 1998-2000; Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA) from 2007-2009; and Habitat International Coalition from 2007-2011, representing Anglophone Africa.

Dr. Fajemirokun has received numerous awards and honors including Award of Excellence from the Akure Chamber of Commerce in 1999; Fellowship, Ashoka Foundation in 2002; Distinguished Achiever Award of the University of Lagos Alumni Association in 2005; and Practitioner Residency, Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Centre, Como, Italy in 2009.

MS. FOLASHADE ANOZIE

Folashade Anozie has been actively involved with C.O.P.E since 1995. She has served as the social media manager for the organisation since 2014 and joined the Board of Trustees in 2016.

She devotes her personal time to educational efforts, including serving as the host of TheSNCPodcast, a podcast focused on helping to unravel the inherently intriguing world of music, arts, and entertainment through insightful discussions with Nigerian artists, creatives, lawyers, music and business executives.

Folashade holds a J.D from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and received her B.A. in Psychology/Women Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Chiamaka Blessing Obilor is a graduate of Public Health from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. During her time at C.O.P.E, she was a team player and helped in the smooth running of our monthly breast screening, support group meetings and outdoor health activities.

Her passion and commitment towards our goals informed her final year seminar presentation “Breast Cancer as a Public Health issue in Nigeria: A retrospective study.”

Blessing’s long-term goal is to own a health talk show.
