She currently serves as the Executive Director of Development Initiatives Network, a non-governmental organization with a focus on policy research and analysis in the development sector. She has extensive management experience in the profit and non-profit sectors and in recognition of this was invited to serve on the Boards of non-governmental organizations such as C.O.PE. in 2004.

Dr Fajemirokun is a graduate of the University of Lagos and she was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984. In 1990, she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy {Ph.D.} degree of the University of London. Dr Fajemirokun was appointed a Fellow of the Ashoka Foundation in 2002 in connection with her work in the field of environmental law and policy in Nigeria. In 1999, she was awarded the Top Honours Award of the Akure Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.

She is also a member of the National Forestry Policy Review Committee and the Advisory Committee to the Lagos State Ministry of Environment on the implementation of an Environmental Education Curriculum in Lagos State Secondary Schools. In June 2005, she was appointed to the Lagos State Government’s Programme Implementation Committee for State-wide activities under the UNDP Country Programme 2005-2007. In this capacity, she will be involved in the overall management and administration of all project activities in Lagos State.

Dr Fajemirokun is a member of the Nigerian Environmental Law Society and serves as the Chair of its committee. She is also a member of the Pan-African Programme on Land and Resource Rights and one of the Founding Members of the Lagos Environment and Sanitation Network {LESN}.
